John and Amy Jinks
Out of Doors is a collaboration of sound and spirit, founded by husband and wife duo John and Amy Jinks. Their musical journey began over a decade ago, but it wasn’t until 2018 that they found their true direction and officially became a band. Their music is shaped by a shared love of wanderlust, loss, metaphysical musings, and self-discovery. Creating together as partners in life has been both a profound challenge and a great gift, continuously refining their sound and deepening their artistic connection.
In 2019, they recorded a short album of folk and spirit songs reimagined as lullabies, which led them to perform at the Asheville Yoga Festival, Mahabhuta Yoga Festival, and yoga studios across the Southeast. This chapter of their work paved the way for new original music and creative expansion. Their first single, Mul Mantra, was released in 2021.
Their latest release, Sisters (2024), was inspired by a women’s group that Amy has been part of for the past two and a quarter years. John’s unwavering support has allowed Amy’s songwriting to flourish, weaving personal stories and shared experiences into their evolving sound.
Out of Doors offers music that is both grounding and expansive—an invitation to land and listen. Their sound is raw and elemental, shaped by the steady pulse of guitar, the warmth of harmonies, and the breath between the notes. Each song is a reflection—of what is felt, what is seen, and what is left unsaid. It moves, it tremors, it breathes.
At its heart, Out of Doors is about embracing the unknown with presence and humor, accepting each moment as it comes. Music is the space that allows them to simply be, and it’s in that space that they invite you to join them.
